Meet Ally, Perinatal Rescue Network!

Updated: Dec 4, 2019

Global Force for Healing has created a new web page honoring our relationships with a wide range of nonprofit organizations globally, including Perinatal Rescue Network (PRN). https://globalforceforhealing/our-allies . This post features our collaboration and PRN's most recent volunteer experiences in Africa.

Like Global Force, this NGO is based in southern Oregon, yet with a global reach. They offer pro bono training and "Train the Trainer" courses to health care professionals in Africa and Asia as well as our local nursing school. https://perinatalrescue.org

Volunteer Kim McQuoid Mentoring Bangladeshi Midwives

PRN generously trained our 2018 team of volunteers in widely-respected programs "Helping Babies Breathe" and "Helping Mothers Survive (Childbirth)" before we left for Bangladesh. We then trained and mentored more than 80 (nurse) midwives, some of whom became master trainers for the two life-saving maternal and newborn health programs.

"Helping Mothers Survive" Training (Ghana)

PRN Board Chair and nurse practitioner Lisa Cordova and long-time volunteer Dawn Varney, RN recently returned from a high-impact training of maternal health professionals in Ghana. This resulted in 52 new Champions (Master Trainers) of "Helping Mothers Survive" who are now equipped to train others. They completed a similar assignment in Nigeria on the trip.

Meanwhile Jim Hulse, PhD, RT, a local Respiratory Therapist for newborns and long-time global volunteer for PRN recently provided train-the-trainer courses in Vietnam.
