Delivering Hope,Part I: Rohingya Health Camps Experience

Writer: Kay SandbergKay Sandberg

A very inspiring day for our Ashland group visiting Rohingya refugee settlements, being rushed by a group of enthusiastic elementary school kids shouting, "Hello, hello. How are you? I am fine!" They were fascinated by cell phone pictures. We visited Hope Foundation's field camp, hopefully to be finished before monsoon rains. The blue building is the kids' elementary school, with Rohingya hillside homes in the background. It's terrifying to think what could happen when monsoon rains come. We also had the joy of visiting two Bangladeshi midwives from our Helping Mothers Survive classes this week. They're working in the camps and the future HOPE Field Hospital for Women.
