Heartfelt thanks for supporting us and our mission throughout the last 10 years. Your support has enabled us to sustain the work of the Compassionate Birth Network and advocacy for the human rights of mothers and babies. With mixed emotions, our board has decided to dissolve the Global Force for Healing and its activities by the end of this year when I retire.
Meanwhile, Compassionate Birth Network (CBN) partners have reaffirmed the value of our collective work and strongly encouraged us to help the Network continue when GFH dissolves. I’m thrilled that the CBN will go forward from January 2023 under the auspices of Helping Children Worldwide, convener of the Together for Global Health coalition! We are very excited about this development, due to our aligned values, mission and their strength.
Helping Children Worldwide (HCW) is a 501c3 nonprofit in Chantilly, Virginia near Washington, DC. HCW’s Mission is to strengthen and empower families and communities in the areas of global health and child wellbeing, including financial support of the Child Reintegration Centre and Mercy Hospital in Sierra Leone, Africa. HCW also provides technical assistance to global health and child wellbeing programs in Africa, Asia, and South America. Visit: https://helpingchildrenworldwide.org
HCW's network that will absorb the CBN is Together for Global Health, a global coalition of over 20 individuals and organizations dedicated to promoting sustainable health care and wellness in low resource communities. They are committed to ensuring that all people served receive care regardless of ability to pay. This is completely aligned with our values. Combining our networks will afford even greater collaborative power and new opportunities to maximize our impact for women and children worldwide.
Once again, thank you for your generosity over the years! Your friendship and dedication to our mission and vision have continued to inspire me personally and inform our work since 2012. Remaining assets after winding up operating expenses and payment of liabilities, will be transferred to Helping Children Worldwide. We will no longer be accepting donations for Global Force for Healing. Instead, we will transfer assets to Helping Children Worldwide at year-end to help ensure the future of our joint network. We hope you will continue to support the continuation of the Compassionate Birth Network in this new way going forward!
